100-Day Action Plan (First 100 Days as Mayor)
Day 1
Action: Convene an emergency meeting with the City Manager and City Attorney on the Etiwanda Heights lawsuit. Demand a full accounting of legal exposure and environmental review failures.
Why: The city is being sued. I need to know exactly what we’re facing.
Day 7
Action: Announce a public task force on Etiwanda Heights: include residents, the Preservation Society, fire officials, and traffic engineers. Commit to a new, independent EIR.
Why: Rebuild trust. Show I’m serious about transparency.
Day 14
Action: Deliver my first State of the City Address: lay out the five priorities. Announce a “Jobs First” economic development initiative.
Why: Set the vision. Get the community on board.
The Five Priorities: Stop Reckless Overdevelopment, Bring Back Good Jobs, Modernize Public Safety, Bring Home State & Federal Dollars Every Year, Fix the Broken Stuff: Animal Services, Parking, and Potholes
Day 21
Action: Meet with Chaffey College, local unions, and workforce development boards to design a Frito-Lay worker transition program.
Why: 680 families lost jobs. They need help now.
Day 30
Action: Visit the Reyes Coca-Cola construction site. Meet with company leadership. Ask: “What else do you need? What other employers should I recruit?”
Why: Build the relationship. Learn how to replicate the win.
Day 45
Action: Hold a public hearing on Animal Services. Invite shelter staff, veterinarians, and residents. Publish a plan to fix staffing shortages within 60 days.
Why: Show I’m listening. Deliver a fix.
Day 60
Action: Submit a grant application for EV charging infrastructure or affordable housing (or both).
Why: Start the money pipeline. Deliver a win by year’s end.
Day 75
Action: Launch the “Pothole Patrol,” set the 48-hour response target. Use the drone program to map road conditions.
Why: Tangible, visible improvement residents will notice.
Day 90
Action: Report back to the Council and the public on progress: Etiwanda Heights review status, job recruitment leads, grant applications submitted, Animal Services plan.
Why: Accountability. Show I’m keeping promises.
Day 100
Action: Host a community town hall, “100 Days, 100 Questions.” Open floor. No filters.
Why: Keep the conversation going. Build a movement.
